1. About the player and 9d history :
I have play this game since beta, but always play only for a short span of time, around 6 months max and move to other game, which is more interesting. The community of this game start good on the time of acclaim (FC12 cap), where people actually help you get ingame item instead of trying to sell them to you via any mean of making profit. Atm this game community is very bad and most of the players who is on top are only play to earn their income, which should only be their hobby and not their main job. As for myself, I would like to omitted my own privacy information. I keep it clean between online and offline. =)
2. When your story linked with 9Dragons? How all started?
It start around 2007, when I was getting tired of FPS game such as GunZ or old CrossFire. 9Dragons was my first mmorpg to interact with new players outside of matchmaking from FPS games.
3. Let’s talk about the RMT transactions and where all started in Tao.
After the blue box revamp, Kunlun bosses is getting less farmer and they all change to gold farming now. I believe some of them also moved to find a real life job and stop rely on 9Dragons items sale.
4. What is the business model of gold/ items/powerlevels/accounts sellers and their methods in Tao ?
Atm, I would say the one who earn gold fast, is the one who use bot program to run CCD during weekend, on other event they are using it to run SGCM, you can sometime see character attacking guard for no reason. I have also report this to GM, but it don’t seem that they would care about it much, since they cant understand something that they don’t have on their hand. I think redfox should be the one who purchase those kind of software and trying to fix it. It only cost them once 20-30 dollars and they at least can make it harder for those cheaters.
5. How RedFox should stop the black market transactions ?
Redfox can stop the black market anytime if they want to, however the problem is on their side, lack of staff member and worker, they basically could check any trade logs for item, which is endgame and worth at least 30-40bil to see who is the black market dealer, because nobody would give other people those items for free and even that would require some kind of agreement between them to prevent the problem of scamming.
6. What about all these fake PayPal transactions going on ? What should RedFox do ?
The same problem as above, the lack of staff is not enough for them to investigate big problem, they are rely on paypal service and hope the problem will solve it themselves.
7. What is the negative impact of black market in Tao server ? How do gold farmers influence the economy?
Atm black market got a big blow to the face, they are waiting for new events and map to restart their business, the economy of this game is already dead from the beginning, people who want to sell item will keep lowering the price and at some point it will be basically nearly free for all players (Blue banner problem after GC update or Kunlun relic level 1 2 3 4 after blue box update)
8. How do you think the community should respond to the players who buys/sells from black market ?
The community should not be the one who decide what to do about this problem, because they basically cant do anything about it, except for preventing those black market dealers getting items easy to sell them. Redfox should be the one to encourage players to report those black market dealers in form of some reward, etc, etc..
9. For years, these people have told us, in defense of their behavior, that they
a) are just providing a service;
b) don't interfere with players' enjoyment of the game.
Do you think is true or false and why ?
No, the economy of the game heavily depend on those case and the enjoyment of the game start with fair play, not monopoly of certain items.
10. There is a paradox of trying to succeed in a game by any means necessary versus the very point of playing the game. They also contributing to both real and virtual economic development, providing jobs for people in less developed countries, and driving revenue into game companies. You think this are the reasons why we don’t see so many players who sells for $ banned ? Or it is just an excuse ?
The problem of this is heavily cause of corruption. The sweet money that flow and the source of that sweet money, the marketing strategy failed and somehow it still work all thank to greedy players who play the part of black market dealers. Redfox is the one who will need to straighten their own ToS and follow the rules. As long as this is not being done, this game don’t have any future as for many other new game is much better in their own concepts.
11. How deep do you think is the corruption with black market in 9d ?
After blue box update I would say black market still have at least 70% of the influence of the game itself, it is hard to remove the evil from the root, if the root failed to even follow their own rules. There are plenty of action they could do to search and destroy the problem, but they basically turn to their blind eyes and let the money flow.
12. Why do you think 9d players buy from the black market ? What are now the items players buy from black market ?
Event items, which are not obtainable anymore is the most item that will get sold, in my opinion, after release of certain item or limited items, they should add a way, even if it is very hard, that player can farm or obtain it on different way. That will at least encourage players from buying in black market.
13.What RedFox should implement in game to avoid the black market dealers ?
Hire more professional staffs, who actually work.
14. What RedFox should do before Hainan map release to avoid the monopoly on that map ?
This game got a big problem about monopoly and it is basically the game concept, it is impossible to change it, but they could implement the alternative way to obtain that certain items via other mean. Giving players enough time to prepare for new event of new map would help too, like announce the new update at least 15 days before release it, which can help the economy stay stable.
